A new chapter awaits the Dorset County Show as it moves to a brand-new site for 2027.
For the past 26 years, the Dorset County Show has called Cokers Frome, on the outskirts of Dorchester, home. In 2027, the Show will move just a few fields away to a new Showground at Pigeon House Farm on Slyers Lane. Whilst the show is moving to a new home, visitors can expect the same journey, with the new Showground benefitting from the same postcode and carparks being located on the same road.
The move helps secure the long-term future of the Dorset County Show and its charitable work to promote agriculture and the countryside. With the current Showground earmarked for development, the new site provides the certainty and stability needed for the Show to continue celebrating the very best of Dorset for years to come.
Many annual visitors will already be familiar with the new location. In recent years, the Show has expanded car parking onto this land, and it became a key part of the vehicle arrival routes in 2024 following record-breaking numbers the year prior.
The Dorset County Show has grown significantly in recent years, welcoming more visitors, exhibitors, campers and attractions than ever before. From alpacas to the music stage, the Show continues to evolve. The new Showground at Pigeon House Farm provides additional acreage for further expansion and allows for investment in infrastructure, helping the event continue to welcome its 60,000 visitors annually.
On 4th and 5th September 2027, the Dorset County Show will open the gates to its new home for what promises to be the biggest house-warming party Dorset has ever seen.
The County Show is grateful to its landlords at Cokers Frome for hosting the Show over the years and providing a home for the event, as it has grown and developed into the County Show we are proud of today. It is with great excitement that we look ahead to a new chapter and look forward to working with our new landlords at Pigeon House Farm, as we look to holding an even more expansive, vibrant and unmissable County Show on our new Showground.
